"I believe that we all take into ourselves subconsciously or not, everything around us. This includes what we see and experience.
Whether that be a full moon rising over the ocean or the patterns left on dessert sands, but also the images that disturb us like the twin towers falling or the smoke trails left by anti-aircraft missiles in a war torn country
Our personal circumstances, our social circle, our environment are continually bombarding our inspirational database with information. It is this mix of information that gives us opinions, its why writers write and singers sing and artists create.
My ideas and designs come from things like moonlight on water, the graceful curves of a naked woman, the vivid colours and textures of a coral reef or the invincible lines of Sydney's skyline.
Over ten years of designing jewellery and sculpture, this process has and continues to take me on a great evolutionary journey. Designing to me is not something as simple as putting pencil to paper, I compare it more to virtual reality, where, in my mind, I visualise the finished piece with incredible clarity.
As a product of this journey I am always making something new, doing things people say can't or shouldn't be done. I never allow boundaries to be set.
You can't create a thing of beauty using only logic and skill. It has to be something of emotion and passion as well; I get it right by feel.
Maybe this journey is for me the search for perfection, however it's the journey, not the destination that is important, the evolution of design. Satisfaction comes when my work stirs emotion and passion in others."
