"I am a self taught artist. I have no preconceived idea of the form I bring to be, I am an observer/the audience. Simply put they are God’s creations.
In 1998 I realized the importance of creativity, expression & the power of truth. I started collecting driftwood on the beach. I was so fascinated by the shapes and textures and began to whittle with a pocket knife. I progressed to a wood chisel and hammer when my neighbour pulled out a very large tree root, which the excavator so kindly placed on my lawn.
I was strongly encouraged to attempt carving a piece of sandstone, a strange face appeared which made me laugh, but I enjoyed the process immensely. I recognised I had found my passion. Sandstone and limestone are my preferred mediums, although I enjoy many. I constantly explore new ground within each stone and within myself."
