Evi Koller
evi koller I was born in Kassel Germany, where I later did an apprenticeship as a photographer. I also worked for 11 years as an advertising photographer in Zurich.

evikollerpic.jpg During my time in Switzerland, I loved to paint and I held my first exhibition in Zurich Switzerland 1975. At the time, my husband and I were living in Switzerland and we travelled extensively all over the world for months at a time. In 1978 we arrived in Australia and lived in Sydney for 2 years. We moved to Coffs Harbour in 1980. Back then I was helping to run a gallery in Bellingen und studied all different aspects of the arts, paintings, pottery, spinning and weaving. I held numerous painting exhibitions in Kassel Germany, Glebe Sydney, Bellingen, Coffs Harbour, Taree Regional Gallery, Grafton.

I started sculpting in 1993 and started off with plaster, stone, bronze, and timber. In 1995 I was awarded a Cultural Achievement Award for one of my bronze sculptures. I received numerous First Prizes for my works. In 1995 the Coffs Harbour Council commissioned me to create a sculpture as part of the Coffs Harbour Art Trail which would bind the relationship between the earth and the sky and reflect the beauty and the environmental importance of the Coffs Creek. The location, Rotary Park, is the point of entry to the “Coffs Creek Walk.”

I finished the sculpture in 1997. During this time I studied all aspects of welding and attended 4 years at TAFE. My second public art work, a stainless steel fountain, in the shape of a whales tail is located at the corner of Harbour drive and Orlando St.

I have just finished a third public art commission for Pokolbin Mistletoe Wines. You will find my work all over the world in private collections, (Italy, Switzerland, England, Canada, Germany and the USA). At the moment I have re-discovered my love for photography and I am doing a course in web graphic design.
