Artist Statement
I was born in Sydney, Australia in 1960 and attended Canterbury Girls High School where I majored in art. I continued an interest in the arts and developed a love for imagery and design through photography and stained glass window design. I completed Visual Arts Certificate 11 at Southern Cross Campus, Coffs Harbour in 1999 and went on to further study with Peter Griffin, Nicholas Daunt & David Cox. My artwork involves the process of layering thin glazes of acrylic paint and is dependent on design fundamentals: form, color, and composition as the painting emerges the elements merge into one to express energy and spirit.
I believe the most complex emotions can be evoked from the simplest of forms and think how the viewer interprets the painting becomes the reality for that person. I would be reluctant to interject another perspective.
